Toyota Prius – Yakima Custom Track Installation – Yakima Control Tower Roof Rack System – Yakima Sidewinder Tandem Bike Carrier

At our 4 US locations we offer a wide range of installation services which include custom permanent applications on vehicles where other options would either not exist, or would not provide the most flexibility in terms of accessories, highest weight rating, and the widest spread between the front and back cross-bars.

For today’s showcase install we have chosen an application for any Toyota Prius. For this application the customer wanted to mount the most secure and most convenient system possible on his Toyota Prius, while not having to deal with the time comparably time consuming removal and installation fount with systems that mount to the factory mounting points. The best, and most flexible solution, in terms of accessory application, bar spread, and convenience in installation and removal, is a permanently installed set of Thule or Yakima Tracks.

This system will allow the mounting of either a System, or a Yakima Control Tower or a 430 Tracker II foot pack system. For this application the customer opted to go with the Yakima 54 inch tracks (Designed Specifically for Sheet Metal Roofs), with the Yakima Control Tower System, which allowed the mounting of a set of 58 inch Yakima Load Bars. Which in turn allows the mounting of most every Thule or Yakima accessory, such as Roof Top Bike carriers, Ski carriers, Water-sport carriers, as well as cargo bags, baskets and Cargo Boxes, and it is removable in seconds.

THIS SYSTEM INCLUDES:

Yakima 54 inch tracks (Installation Video)

(2) sets of Landing Pad 1’s (sold in half sets)

(1) Set of 4 Control Towers (See Below for Control Tower Video)
(1) set of 58 Inch Load Bars
and a (4) Pack of Yakima SKS locks to secure it to the track

For today’s showcase install we mounted Thule TP42 Tracks which creates a solid mounting point for Thule 430Tracker II feet on any vehicle without a factory rack. The Thule TP42 Inch Tracks Tracker Kit is made for a sheet metal roof, and it includes “flaring” hardware and an installation tool.

For this application the customer wanted to mount the most secure and most convenient system possible on his Edge, while not having to deal witht the time comparably time consuming removal and installation fount with systems that mount to the factory mounting points.
