For today’s showcase install we mounted a Thule TK14 Tracker Kit which creates a solid mounting point for Thule 430(r) Tracker II feet on any vehicle without a factory rack. The Thule TK14 Tracker Kit is made for a sheet metal roof, and it includes “flaring” hardware and an installation tool. We determined that a fixed position system was the best choice, comparably to an adjustable track system, due to the lack of space between the sunroof and the weather strip. (less then the standard width of the track) The owner was interested in a system that would allow him to mount a 17ft kayak, his Thule Echelon fork mount bike carrier (as shown in the photos), and possibly a cargo box in the future. For this reason we decided to go with a 28 inch bar spread, which allowed for the maximum flexibility in terms of individual accessory bar spread requirements.

Chevy Trailblazer SS – Thule Custom Track Installation – 430 Tracker System – with Thule Boxter Cargo Box

A while ago we received a call from a gentlemen in New Jersey, A “Storm Chaser” by trade, and he was looking for a rack system as well as a cargo box for his 2007 Chevy Trailblazer SS that would fair best against the intense weather conditions found in his line of work. A rack system that could withstand high winds, and at times hail the size of baseballs. Here at Rack Attack we take pride in our ability to outfit most every vehicle with with a rack system that will suit the customer’s needs. After discussing with the customer what exactly he needed his rack to do, we were able to determine the best system application, and  the customer set an appointment and he drove up for the install.

We decided that a custom track system application would offer the customer the widest range of flexibility, convenience, and strength. For this application we installed a set 54 inch Thule Permanent Tracks. This allowed us to mount a Thule 430 Tracker Foot Pack System with a 50 inch set of Thule Load Bars. Because you can mount the 430 Tracker Foot Pack just about anywhere on the length of the track, using a TK1 adapter kit, this application allows the owner to quickly and easily customize thier bar spread to suit any need. In addition, the fact that once the system is installed, as with all custom applications, removal and re-installation couldn’t be easier or more convenient.

Fiberglass Truck Cap Custom Drill Track Application with Thule TK1 & 430 Tracker II Foot Pack Roof Rack System

For those looking to get a bit more utility out of thier Fiberglass camper, or fiberglass Truck or Jeep cap, Thule has come up with the perfect solution, the installation of thier TB60 Top-Track with bolts. The TB60 is a permanent foundation for a base rack system that will allow you to mount any number of accessory combinations, while still maintaining a sleek and professional look. Here at Rack Attack we pride ourselves on our overall product knowledge, and this knowledge is best attained from our extensive installation experience as well as the use of these products on our own vehicles.

2005 Chevy Avalanche Bare Roof Roof Rack – Yakima Custom Track Control Tower System

For today’s showcase install I have chosen an application we put together for a true “Weekend Warrior.” Our customer spent his weekends biking, camping, and boating, but during the week he was all business and didn’t want to keep the system on his 2005 Chevy Avalanche when he wasn’t using it. He already had a traditional clip system, that even for an experienced rack expert could takes about 20-30 minutes to properly install, as well as the fact that extended use of clip systems can mar the door-jam at the point of contact. Suffice it to say this was not fitting in with the customer’s need for convenience, so this became a great candidate for permanent  custom system application.

2005 Chevy Avalanche - Yakima Custom Track with Control Tower System

For this 2005 Chevy Avalanche we decided the best custom option would be a Yakima 42 inch Track with Plusnuts, coupled with a Control tower system. which includes Yakima control towers, (2) Yakima Landing Pad 1’s (sold as a half set) and a 4 pack of Yakima Lock cores to secure it to the track.
