Here we have a very nice, very new 2014 Acura MDX. The customer wanted a low profile and versatile rack, so we set him up with the Whispbar S5 flush-mount crossbar system to be mounted onto a set of Thule TP54 tracks. This system uses a Whispbar K450 kit to attach to the tracks and is very solid as well as user-friendly. Installing and removing the crossbars takes only minutes, and is extremely handy when you need to take your car through a car wash, or want to quick-mount the rack and accessories.
This system features a fully adjustable bar spread along the full length of the Thule 54″ Track – and will support 165lbs. of cargo. This makes this system and vehicle ideal for transporting a canoe, a cargo container for skis and/or luggage, as well as multiple bikes or kayaks.
These systems generally take 2-3 hours to install, mostly to ensure proper waterproofing. We can even install same-day!
