For today’s showcase install we have chosen an application for any Toyota Yaris. This application will work for most any sheet metal roof vehicles with no other roof rack option, but it will also work on most any sheet metal roofed vehicle, as a more secure and convenient option.

The best, and most flexible solution, in terms of accessory application, bar spread, and convenience in installation and removal, is a permanently installed set of Thule or Yakima Tracks that will allow the mounting of  a 430 Tracker II foot pack system. For this application the customer opted to go with the Yakima 54 inch tracks, which is designed Specifically for Sheet Metal Roofs. Which in turn allows the mounting of most every Thule or Yakima accessory, such as Roof Top Bike carriers, Ski carriers, Water-sport carriers, as well as cargo bags, baskets and Cargo Boxes, and it is removable in seconds.

Acura TL – Thule Fixed Position Custom Installation – TK14 – 430R – RB43

For today’s showcase install we mounted a Thule TK14 Tracker Kit which creates a solid mounting point for Thule 430(r) Tracker II feet on any vehicle without a factory rack. The Thule TK14 Tracker Kit is made for a sheet metal roof, and it includes “flaring” hardware and an installation tool. We determined that a fixed position system was the best choice, comparably to an adjustable track system, due to the lack of space between the sunroof and the weather strip. (less then the standard width of the track) The owner was interested in a system that would allow him to mount a 17ft kayak, his Thule Echelon fork mount bike carrier (as shown in the photos), and possibly a cargo box in the future. For this reason we decided to go with a 28 inch bar spread, which allowed for the maximum flexibility in terms of individual accessory bar spread requirements.

Mini Cooper with SunRoof – Thule Custom Track Installation – Thule 430 Tracker System – Yakima LowPro Premium Cargo

For today’s Showcase Installation we installed 54 inch Thule Permanent Tracks on a 2006 Mini Cooper with a sunroof. This allowed us to mount a Thule 430 Tracker Foot Pack System with a 50 inch set of Thule Load Bars. Because you can mount the 430 Tracker Foot Pack just about anywhere on the length of the track, using a TK1 adapter kit, this application allows the owner to quickly and easily customize thier bar spread to suit any need. In addition, the fact that once the system is installed, removal and re-installation couldn’t be easier or more convenient.
