The TB60 is a permanent foundation for a base rack system that will allow you to mount any number of accessory combination’s, while still maintaining a sleek and professional look. Chevy Colorado – Thule 42 Inch Top Track & Thule 430 Tracker II Foot Pack System

For today’s showcase install we added on to a customer’s previously installed Thule Fiberglass Track System, by adding a Track system onto the cab of his Chevy Colorado, which allows him to now carry longer loads. This system which is a combination between a Thule 430 Tracker II foot pack system and a Thule 42 inch TopTrack with plusnuts that are designed specifically designed to be used on the sheet metal roof of most vehicles.

The best, and most flexible solution, in terms of accessory application, bar spread, and convenience in installation and removal, is a permanently installed set of Thule or Yakima Tracks that will allow the mounting of  a 430 Tracker II foot pack system. For this application the customer opted to go with the Yakima 42 inch tracks, which is designed Specifically for Sheet Metal Roofs. Which in turn allows the mounting of most every Thule or Yakima accessory, such as Roof Top Bike carriers, Ski carriers, Water-sport carriers, as well as cargo bags, baskets and Cargo Boxes, and it is removable in seconds.

Chevy Colorodo – Yakima Half Set Q Tower System – 300 Outdoorsman Compact – Mako Saddles & Hully Rollers

For today’s showcase install, the owner of this Chevy Colorado was interested in a system that would allow him to mount a kayak without solely utilizing the two bar system designed to mount over the cab. He was interested in using the area over his truck’s bed, and we were more than happy to go over all the system options, as well as all of the accessory combinations available. After we went over with him all of the approved fit systems for his vehicle, we decided that a combination system, including a Yakima Q Tower half set as well as Yakima Outdoorsman Compact would allow him to best utilize the space available, while still allowing for the convenience of loading and unloading that having a bar mounted at the rear of the truck bed allows for. 2008 Nissan Titan – TrackRac Sliding Baserail/Upright System with a TracRac Cantilever Extension (Compact)

With the 2008-2009 Winter behind us now is the perfect time for Contractors to outfit thier Vehicles with Professional Grade Racks that will help them Get the Job Done more efficiently. For today’s showcase install, our customer needed a rack that could carry loads of copper piping that would extend over the cab, as well as being able to mount his preexisting saddle style Tool Box. We felt that the Best System to get this done was TracRac’s Sliding Base Rail system with a Cantilever Extension. The Compact Cantiliever extends 32 Inches over the cab, and it prevents possible damage to the cab from overhanging loads. Ford F250 Super Duty – Combination Sheet Metal/Fibreglass Custom Installation Yakima Roof Rack System

We were all excited when this behemoth pulled in the lot, but we were ecstatic when the owner told us what he wanted us to do. He was a general contractor that wanted a permanent 3 Bar system; 2 bars on the Cap and 1 bar over the Cab. He was interested in a rack that would handle the occasional sheet of plywood, but would also be able to handle water sport carriers, and at Rack Attack we aim to please.

For this application we came up with a combination custom install that suited the customers needs that included a Yakima 60 inch track that is designed specifically for fiberglass applications, as well as a fixed position Yakima Landing Pad 7 system, which is designed for sheet metal applications.

The system Included;

CAP SYSTEM

• Yakima 60 Inch Tracks with bolts -  (Installation Instructions)
  
• (2) sets of Landing Pad 1′s (sold in half sets)
• (1) Set of 4 Control Towers
• (1) set of 66 inch Yakima Load Bars
• and a (4) Pack of Yakima SKS locks to secure it to the track

CAB SYSTEM

• (1) set of Yakima Landing Pad 7′s – designed to mount to sheet metal using Flare-Nuts (LP7 Installation Instructions)

For this application the Customer decided to go with Yakima’s Gunwale Brackets witch can carry a canoe by the gunwales with a soft rounded shape. The Yakima Gunwale Brackets connect to both Thule square and Yakima round bars on a multi-purpose base rack system.

2005 Chevy Avalanche Bare Roof Roof Rack – Yakima Custom Track Control Tower System

For today’s showcase install I have chosen an application we put together for a true “Weekend Warrior.” Our customer spent his weekends biking, camping, and boating, but during the week he was all business and didn’t want to keep the system on his 2005 Chevy Avalanche when he wasn’t using it. He already had a traditional clip system, that even for an experienced rack expert could takes about 20-30 minutes to properly install, as well as the fact that extended use of clip systems can mar the door-jam at the point of contact. Suffice it to say this was not fitting in with the customer’s need for convenience, so this became a great candidate for permanent  custom system application.

2005 Chevy Avalanche - Yakima Custom Track with Control Tower System

For this 2005 Chevy Avalanche we decided the best custom option would be a Yakima 42 inch Track with Plusnuts, coupled with a Control tower system. which includes Yakima control towers, (2) Yakima Landing Pad 1′s (sold as a half set) and a 4 pack of Yakima Lock cores to secure it to the track.
